In order to understand why it is important to participate in the school community, students need the opportunity to interact with school professionals and learn about the resources. They will learn how to be a contributing member of the school community. Package content is not flexible and cannot be modified.Students will understand how to find and use the resources and services in our school. Please note that if your order ships in multiple boxes, package components may not all be in the same box. The package item number is also listed at the bottom of your packing slip for reference. ![]() On your packing slip, package components are picked and packed individually and are identified with the code "PKGCMP" in the price column. Any backordered components will ship separately as they become available. In-stock components will ship according to our normal shipping time. When you order a package, you are charged one price for all package items. Because most package items or components are also sold separately and may be components of multiple packages, these items may not have the same inventory availability at any point in time. Although packages are sets, items are not physically bundled together. Any item sold as a package on our website is identified by a unique alpha-numeric item number (such as "APH1AB"). A listing of individual items that make up a package is provided on the package item's product detail page along with real-time item availability of those items. Where multiple editions are available, such as the Adventures of Tom Sawyer, the page numbers given in the guide may not correlate exactly.Ī "package" is made up of two or more items sold as a set, often for a reduced price. Some of these editions are now out of print, and we do not carry all versions mentioned. Please note that some guides have been written to correlate with a specific edition of a book. If you want your student to do little written work and put more emphasis on discussion, the teacher guide can be used by itself. If your child is working independently on a novel, the student packet can be used alone (if available). There is very little overlap between the two, even in the chapter-by-chapter questions - but completing the questions in the student packet will help prepare your child for the more in-depth questions found in the teacher guide. Really, each of these components can function as a stand-alone product and can be used without the other, but for a more comprehensive study, they are best used in concert. Novel Unit Sets include a Novel Unit study guide and/or teacher guide, as well as the recommended reading book for the guide(s). Answers are included in the back, along with an essay evaluation form (i.e. Student packets may include: activity pages, study guide, graphic organizers, writing and/or listening and speaking prompts, critical thinking challenges, quizzes and a unit test. Student Packets, although not available for every book, vary somewhat by grade level and book. There are no objective or essay tests, but each guide ends with a student assessment page that provides a list of projects or exercises to be completed to help evaluate student understanding. Again, these vary in scope and type by guide. All include some culminating questions and activities. ![]() Some guides contain reproducible graphic organizers to aid student analysis. ![]() Literature concepts/skills appear here and there. Chapter by chapter (in some guides, multiple chapters) lesson plans contain vocabulary words, discussion questions (with answers), and suggested activities. This segment also gets readers thinking about the story. They begin with a synopsis of the book and its author, and some pre-reading activities that serve both to provide background for the novel study and initiate student involvement. Format of the guides vary somewhat by grade level, but feature some common elements. Teacher Guides are 30-40 pages - not voluminous, but enough for good coverage of the book.
